Description
Suzani is not a type of rug but a decorative tribal textile made in Central Asia. The word "Suzani" means "needle" in Persian, reflecting the art of hand-embroidering these textiles with a tambour hook, not woven. Traditional suzani designs often feature sun and moon disks, flowers, leaves, vines, fruits, and sometimes birds or fish — each symbol rich in cultural meaning.
In Suzani Kilim, these intricate embroidered motifs are layered onto a handwoven kilim base, blending the tactile appeal of flatweave kilim with the beauty of suzani needlework.
Each piece is artisan-made, using natural vegetable dyes and traditional techniques. Designed to be versatile, your Suzani Kilim can be used as a wall hanging, floor rug, or decorative throw — bringing heritage, artistry, and warmth into your home.
Please note: As a handmade item, slight variations and imperfections are part of its unique charm.
